As Love Knysna web design, i was approached for a quote for a website for the Justice & Equality Fund (J.E.F.). It posed an interesting question to me, whether to do it or not, as it publicizes law actions against the DA on the Garden Route. Invariably, these will be ANC and ANCYL clients who work, or formerly worked, for municipalities that are DA controlled. They have already won a case in Oudtshoorn and the Mayor of Plettenberg Bay, Memory Booysen, spoke negatively and publicly against them this week.
I’m a critic of the DA because they run my hometown of Knysna from behind closed doors. But i’m also a critic of the ANC and the ANCYL. Unlike the majority of South Africans i know, especially the politicians who use race as a weapon, i don’t believe in the hateful black and white mentality that shreds the heart of South Africa. I can accept multiculturalism but when it comes to right and wrong, good and bad, it’s about the individual because there are ALL kinds of people in all race groups and political parties. My goal is to try find the good ones on both sides.
J.E.F. poses a challenge to the limited finances of local municipalities but we have to believe in the upholding of the Constitution. More importantly, their actions will prevent violent protest (you can read more about that on their website). Law versus Violence – i know which i’d rather subscribe to.
Initially, we’ll probably hear a lot about J.E.F. within the context of Plettenberg Bay as several court decisions are pending but Plett is a place for me to go on “holiday”. Knysna is my love and therefore my cause. But J.E.F. is extremely relevant to Knysna where the DA has committed to a lack of truth and transparency whilst undergoing their own purge and control of ANC affiliated municipal employees. With the threat of legal action nearby, it will hopefully make Mayor Georlene Wolmarans and Deputy Mayor (and Financial head) Michelle Wasserman more cautious and legal in their approach so that real issues are dealt with and not political scourging. Maybe that could be a step in a direction towards them becoming responsible and good leaders of Knysna.
Summarily, i quoted low and went the extra distance with the site in support of peaceful solutions to problems on the Garden Route. Please visit www.JusticeandEquality.co.za.
