The Do-No-Wrong DA does wrong again. It’s another indictment of Helen Zille’s leadership. A reporter described Brian Molefe’s High Court win against the Plett DA as giving them a “bloody nose”.
Brian is Transnet’s big boss, a power-weight who volunteered on the audit committee for the Bitou Municipality a.k.a. Plettenberg Bay. His intentions of investigating the untendered, R4.3 million rand, IT contract given to DA supporter, Jeremy Ord’s Dimension Data were met with an attempt by the DA, fronted by Mayor Memory Booysen, to remove him from the Audit Committee. He won the court case and, once again, the taxpayer will be footing the DA’s string of court losses that were motivated by seeking power rather than doing their job.
Brian Molefe: “If I’d let them remove me, people would have asked how I could be running a company with a R300-billion capital programme when I can’t even handle the audit committee of a town in the gramadoelas.”
Helen Zille has lost my respect (yes, it may surprise my detractors that i used to respect her very much). That she allows the DA to repeatedly lie and twist justice is no longer a sign of her being a weak or bad leader but proof of the orders and intent of her leadership.
Once upon a time i wrote Helen Zille asking her to please kick the lying DA arse in Knysna. She didn’t. Hell, she didn’t even respond as per her own policy. It was another clue in a long string of clues that summed up to the Democratic Alliance as not being the saints they were portrayed as in the media. Of course, supporters would rather be blind than logically assess facts instead of racist or sociological emotions. For some it’s that George Bush mentality of, “You’re either with us or against us”, you’re either for the ANC or against the ANC. I’d rather be for Truth.
There is a war between the DA and the ANC that considers you and me to be nothing but pawns to be used or manipulated. Wake up! That’s not DA roses you’re smelling.
