I have made a MASSIVE effort to get the truth for over 2 years. I have written more blogs than are listed below and they don’t take into account the additional calls and meetings i.e. Despite the Tourism Board and the DA’s claim of helpfulness (lies), I have not been given something as simple as a detailed budget.

Initially, I was courteous to our politicians but as soon as it was clear that they were part of the problem, I deliberately blogged controversially so as to try force the issue. As time past, I never had to make that effort as every name i called them proved true.

Locally, the Tourism Board, Mayor Georlene Wolmarans, Deputy Mayor Esmė Edge, Speaker Michelle Wasserman, Municipal Manager Lauren Waring and the recently deceased Knysna Chamber of Business committed a great disservice to Knysna. Their actions held truth and the public’s right to know in utter contempt. That bigger personalities such as MEC Winde and Premier Helen Zille did nothing to right their wrongs stabs deep into the heart of the DA’s claims for a better South Africa and makes mockery of the response times they claim. Their election platform of open doors, transparency and catching the crooks became worthless as they became exactly what they told us they were fighting against. I’m open to more points of view but to me their actions only make sense if they were for the sake of appearance, cronyism or both.

Don’t mistake this statement as support for the ANC or COPE. They proved to be inconsequential opposition when it counted the most. It is ironic and unfortunate that my blogging has given them a boost they haven’t earned. There is no politician in Knysna who has earned respect in this matter. Continue reading →
