The Knysna Municipal Council today (12 February 2013) made three changes to accommodate the replacement of former Speaker Richard Dawson, who announced his intention to resign from the position last November.

At a Special Council Meeting this morning, former Deputy Executive Mayor and Chair of the Governance and Economic Development Committee, Councillor Michelle Wasserman, was appointed the new Speaker.

Proportional Representative and Chair of the Finance Committee, Ms Esmé Edge, was appointed the new Deputy Executive Mayor. Continue reading

There are exceptions to almost everything but the stereotypical politician, at least every one i’ve met so far, literally plays a game with our lives whilst earning fat pay cheques and power that can be abused. If you remove your cultural blinds, you’ll realize that the DA and the ANC have failed us. COPE and the ACDP are a joke. The only major item Knysna politicians agreed upon was a pay increase. This after they’d said there was no money but later, hypocritically stated, that the town was not bankrupt. Their tongues fork in whatever direction that’s convenient for them. Continue reading
