The DA’s Relationship with Nathan Kirsh & Glynnis Breytenbach
What is the truth in the relationships between the Democratic Alliance, Helen Zille, Glynnis Breytenbach, the NPA and mysterious billionaire, Nathan Kirsh…

Show us the money, Helen!
I’m no fan of the ANC and ANCYL’s normally hypocritical and rhetorical press releases. Whatever they accuse the DA of, they’re doing the same or worse. For that reason, and because Helen Zille’s words are better reads, i’ve re-posted more of her newsletters on my blog.
Although i consider the DA to be deceptive and have personally (repeatedly) experienced their betrayals and crimes, i don’t ignore them when they present information against the ANC.
Likewise, today, i share with you extracts from the ANC’s press release which questions Zille’s relationship with Kirsh (which i had previously presented on News24 but now find it removed without warning – guessing that someone’s relationship with News24 is more powerful than mine. You can find that story on this website).
As usual, the ANC is too heavy-handed but they are right in that the relationship deserves investigation (wouldn’t it be cool if they’d reciprocate with an in-depth view of Chancellor House or ‘allow’ the National Prosecuting Authority to investigate all the charges against Jacob Zuma?).
The benefit of politicians pointing fingers at one another is that it provides us with more opportunity to see what’s really happening in our country, maybe even revealing the true machinations that give us our leaders (who we definitely do not get through voting for parties).
GLYNNIS BREYTENBACH
A source of great consternation has been Helen Zille’s shooting of outsiders up the ranks of the DA.
What is seen as some as playing the race card as a winner over merit has made insiders angry, particular the coloured base which felt betrayed by the meteoric rise (and meteoric fall) of black Mamphela Ramphele (AGANG’s leader).
Glynnis Breytenbach is another who gained a solid position in the party ahead of others. Sure, she deserves heroine status for resisting the National Prosecuting Authority over the withdrawal of charges against Richard Mdluli but if it’s true that she received a R10million loan from Nathan Kirsh, the complainant in two linked cases she was involved in prosecuting, and that she received a R6.3m donation from Kirsh via the FW de Klerk Foundation, towards her legal fees in the NPA matter, then one must wonder if that will influence her position in the DA or the DA itself.
I expect that Glynnis Breytenbach will be safe as there’s no law against receiving money to pay for your court case (or getting a safe ride in a bullet proof car). But, as said, it’s the bigger picture, and possible later political interference, that is more relevant to our South African lives.
ANC PRESS RELEASE
Here’s the bulk of the ANC’s press release, ‘Did Zille Lobby Donors to Pressure Ramphele?’:
The ANC Western Cape is deeply disturbed to learn that the so-called mysterious donor who apparently pressurised the AGANG leader Mamphela Ramphele and the DA’s Helen Zille into their failed marriage according to reports is the London based billionaire Nathan (Natie) Kirsch.
Kirsch allegedly made his fortune under the apartheid regime and is also said to be owner/director of the Israeli-based company Magal Securities, which provides intrusion detection systems along the notorious apartheid wall of shame in Israel where many people were killed in recent time.
According to media reports, documents show that company won most of the bids to the Israeli Ministry of Defence for the installation of up to 80% of the systems along the separation wall of shame – to oppress Palestinian people even with military force. It is reported that the company received work of approximately $19 million (R210 million) along 150 km in the West Bank area.
The ANC is also well aware of the averred long and historical links between the DA, Zille and Kirsch. There is reason to believe that the undue pressure that Kirsch exerted on Ramphele in fact came at Zille’s behest and that it seems she lobbied other funders to do the same.
It is also common cause that Kirsch funded DA MP hopeful Adv Glynnis Breytenbach’s legal case against the National Prosecuting Agency (NPA). It is also alleged that they have a long historical and highly questionable business relationship. Recent media reports aver that Kirsch allegedly provided Breytenbach and her business partner with a loan of approximately $1 million (US) in return for her having successfully managed a legal matter in Kirsch’s favour.
Given this cosy relationship as well as Kirsch’s own recent history of puppet mastering political parties, the ANC is not surprised that Breytenbach is high up on the DA’s Parliamentary candidate list, trumping many seasoned and veteran leaders. Would it therefore be too farfetched to assume that Breytenbach’s sudden political rise is due the heavy influence of Kirsch on the DA?
As the ANC, we welcome the investigation by the NPA into Kirsch’s relationship with Breytenbach and to charge anyone if needs be. The ANC furthermore calls upon the relevant authorities to investigate whether Kirsch has violated any other domestic or international laws as it relates to his dealings in Israel or by manipulating politicians for rent.
The ANC notes that these seditious meddling are as a result of our our very principled and strong foreign policy perspective particularly as it relates to our country’s international solidarity with the oppressed peoples of this world, amongst others the Palestinians.
The DA is alienating voters by defending Israel’s illicit actions.
What is her relationship with these dubious donors who continue to support and entrench the regime and the building of the Israeli apartheid wall of shame to brutally divide people?

Her relationship is exactly the same type of relationship all tribe members have with israhell. Full compliance.
There’s always the financial leg-up followed by the power-base leg-up. The same in every single country that has israel-firsters in positions of power, (most western countries, and quite a few ME countries. Like Egypt)
They always vehemently protect israhell as “the only democracy in the Middle East” and usually end up as the opposition leaders.
Consider it was not too long ago that Umkhonto was full of israel-firsters, pushing the ANC agenda in some very influential arena’s with some really heavyweight money behind them. Finally, they won the hard fought battle and the ANC came to power, the very people they fought so hard for.
Along came Tony Leon, a definite israhell firster who eventually handed over to another israhell firster, Helen Zille. Money was no object back then, and, seemingly right now too.
You do the math.
It’s a fascinating maths you present, Patrick, but i’m not willing to add up the equation as it would take up a lot of time for me to pursue and veer me away from Knysna topics. Additionally, people want to sue me for the Kirsh/Primedia/DA topic so i may have to preserve some time for their action. I currently await their response to my response.
