I’ve been frustrated lately. Yeah, that’s not new. I get immensely frustrated at the public’s lack of will to stand up for themselves. But this has been deeper than that regularity to where i’ve been depressed and having to force myself to be active.
But i now have DA Councillor Richard Dawson, his husband (and fellow Ward Committee member), Dr Colin Lang, and Municipal Manager Lauren Waring to thank for fueling my motivation – outrage does that for me. They reminded me, again, when needed most, that they’ve been participants to screwing up our lives in Knysna.
The Ward 10 committee, that is illegally (yes by law) subservient to a political party, is the closest threat to democracy in my area. I’ve had low regard for them since they refused, illegally, to accept evidence on the corruptions that are the ISDF and Knysna Tourism. I told you, my readers, about that in detail.
Although i got rid of one Ward Committee member, i kept my focus on their political bosses (Dawson may have once had the title of Speaker and been on the Mayoral Committee but he hasn’t been a boss, seemingly a bumbling fool way past his sell-by date, prepared to accept a big salary to do what he is told). Not anymore. Now the Ward Committee and Richard Dawson are very much going to get my attention. Have the bad people in our government not realised that when they do wrong, i hit back harder?
In a democracy, public participation is allowed. In a democracy, there are no secrets. Knysna is obviously not a democracy, just another corrupt town in South Africa where those reaching for power do so at the expense of the public.
To any new Ward 10 Committee members, those who haven’t been announced to the public, why the hell would our representatives we were suppose to elect be secret? Is that because you weren’t elected? But here’s your chance. Do the right thing. Don’t be tainted with the same brush that has been blackening our town for 3 years. Do the right thing. Follow the Law! DO THE RIGHT THING!
I will tell you more about this in other blogs. Right now, it looks like the ANC leadership in Eden District, of which Knysna falls under, has been kicked in the balls too. I need to report on that much needed swelling and prepare some info for my lawyers.
How many times must i tell you that corruption is on both sides? There isn’t a good DA and a bad ANC or a bad DA and a good ANC. There’s just bad people and good people with a shitload of undecided people in between. It’s about grabbing power at any cost… and the people doing the grabbing (and sometimes the kicking) don’t give a damn about you and me so STOP BEING UNDECIDED!
Stop being fools, waving the colours of their political parties like you’re ignorant gang members. Yeah, me harshly saying it like it is doesn’t win me fans but it is of the utmost importance that you THINK FOR YOURSELVES and play your part in making our town a better place to live in. The only positive future we will have is one wherein you are a participant! We are running out of time to have any future at all. Please participate.
