I’d heard they had intended doing so but can only announce it now, after it was made official in the Knysna-Plett Herald.
The fact is that they were too far down the candidacy list to get elected anyway.
I have been a critic and opponent of them for too long. My hope was that they would vanish from the political sphere and the court room. If either ever runs as an independent candidate, my activism will return in force.
However, legal battles are unlikely to be over for at least another year. It’s guaranteed that all three of us will be in court several more times so that Knysna’s politics can be fully revealed.
Anthony Stone has also been withdrawn from the list as he isn’t a South African citizen.
LOOKING AT THE NEW LIST
There are 3 people that should not be on the new candidacy list. I don’t name them now but promise to work towards having them removed, even if only after they have been elected, even if i have to pursue personal prosecution and civil suites. Ultimately, some matters must get to the Constitutional Court.
Knysna deserves a DA that is transparent and accountable to the public. The dictatorship and lack of accountability the past 5 years has been unforgivable.
Uncomfortably, it would seem that we in Knysna have no party to trust and turn to for support in these challenging times. Our politics is a mess! With none willing to clean it, we must accept that there will be more challenges ahead.
