The undemocratic walkout at the July 15 Knysna Special Council Meeting stopped the suspension of Municipal Manager Grant Easton, a man under investigation. The ANC, with possible assistance from rogue DA members, betrayed the public of Knysna. Then the Knysna-Plett Herald took their side with biased reporting that included a big lie.
Before i get to the details of what i believed happened, i want to give all parties lots of opportunity to respond. I also want to remind you what has happened and what’s at stake.
I don’t know the contents of the latest allegations against Grant Easton except that leaks to newspapers have included tender practices and racism. What i know and can prove are my own allegations and questions which were submitted to Parliament.
First, the DA and Municipality refused to attend Parliament so, when they eventually did, it was without my presence. However, we have the audio transcripts and press releases which clearly show that Grant Easton lied to Parliament. It must also be strongly considered that those lies were supported by the high-ranking DA members who accompanied him. Why else would they have sat in silence?
Those DA members are now being pushed out. A faction within the party has unofficially taken over. Unfortunately, it’s been possible for the losers to still sabotage our democracy and support the side that chooses itself over Knysna.
It’s a constant battle for me to keep the public’s attention in our watery era of Whatsapp and Playstation. I beg you to take the time to understand important issues, especially as elections approach. If you haven’t noticed, we’re currently experiencing the biggest power shake-up since 1995.
You also need to be outraged that millions of your taxpayers’ cash has been wasted.
Before i get into more detail, i need those who are serious about understanding our town to read or re-read their lies about Knysna Tourism. Thereafter, i will present their never before published lies to Parliament on the ISDF, the 30-year plan for our town. Finally, i will address the ANC’s walkout itself.
