I hope that the hope and excitement of the newbies keeps them away from corruption and stops them from being led by the nose by the few experienced councillors that remain.
With their arrival in office, it’s high time to address the elephants in the room…
On their first day of office, August 15 2016, Knysna’s 21 councillors each received a copy of my “Elephants in the Room” complaint.
It’s by no means comprehensive as there’s far too many issues and evidence to address in one go but R530 worth of printing should offer enough to disturb any moral councillor.
When i use the expression “elephants in the room”, i mean that there are big, blatant problems that politicians and municipal staff do not want to talk about.
For some, the failure of duty is because of bias and power.
For most, it’s because they know they’re guilty.
They’d rather repeatedly take me to court than admit that elephants are standing right next to them…
