The main issues were human rights abuses in forestry communities like Brackenhill, Ruigtevlei & Karatara by organizations like PG Bison, SANParks & Cape Nature Conservation.
SANParks has subsequently come to meetings and have addressed some of the issues.
PG Bison and Cape Nature Conservation have refused to attend any meeting or to come to the party to address the issues. PG Bison has no interest re resolve any matter or to engage communities and are still trying everything in their power to forcibly remove communities like Brackenhill who have lived there for more than 100 years on the land where they are living.
SCSEDFF was made up of various organizations from as far as Boland, Overberg & Tsitsikamma, including community organizations, forestry communities, unions & government departments. SCSEDF has now made way to WCFDF which will be officially launched by the Minister of Agriculture, Fishing& Forestry on 27 April 2015.
