I’m Mike Hampton. I applaud human rights and despise those who would judge someone by their race or sexuality. I’m not a member of any political party. All have failed us where i live. I’m an activist because i love my town and despise the corruption that seeks to control it.
That corruption stretches to Cape Town where the selfish ANC self-destructs and Helen Zille is one of the biggest lies sold to South Africa.
Fighting politicians and the government is tough! Even tougher when financially battling to survive and unable to afford lawyers/advocates… more so when I’m saying things that people don’t want to hear. I criticise black and white, DA and ANC… i criticise many things because our South African standards have become appallingly low and our lives too selfish and fearful.
I live a life that’s torn between looking over my shoulder and searching forward to a better future. I would like to be doing something else, something safer… something that involves dealing less with hysterical, biased people who know hate better than education and fairness…
…but i’m 5 years falling down a dark, political rabbit hole. I said “hellooooo” to Alice and the Madhatter as i dropped past them i.e. it’s going to take me a long time to climb back out. I have to hope that the Public Protector throws me a rope (Parliament has responded to my allegations of corruption by asking the Public Protector to step in).
I state all the above because there are so many of you on my Facebook page that some don’t know who i am or what i stand for. Some accuse me of hiding (despite me being very visible and loud).
I’ve prepared a list of articles for you. Primarily, it’s an alternate education into the questionable manner in which the Democratic Alliance operates in the Western Cape.
I include updates on the many court cases i believe the DA are using in attempts to silence me from exposing (and speaking against) their alleged political crime. Their propaganda campaign against me was vicious and extensive (that is detailed too).
Most topics involve Knysna but a few extend further afield, addressing similar political actions elsewhere. I also challenge apathy, race, sexuality, the economy etc. I challenge main stream thought that isn’t helping our country.
As “Wicked Mike”(my nickname) and as “Mike Hampton”, i’ve blogged so much that it’s too easy for a new reader to get lost. By categorising and listing some of my blogs, i’m hoping to point you in the right direction, make the messages clearer and GRAB YOUR ATTENTION.
