The DA may soon take back power in Bitou Municipality (Plettenberg Bay). Mayor Peter Lobese (AUF) has broken his coalition with the ANC. I don’t believe his ridiculous talk of standing against Zuma being one of his reasons but if he wants to truly do good for his town then he should make a Mayoral Committee that represents the best from all the parties… but with one more from the DA so that he retains his Mayoral position and salary. I remind him of his quote last year in the CXPress: “Where two bulls fight, it is only the grass … ‘Click here to read full article…’
The Democratic Alliance (DA) must be crying in many ways. They lost Bitou Municipality, what most still call Plettenberg Bay, by only 21 votes. The Active United Front (AUF) must be smiling. Initially, the DA looked to be the winners. After all, they had won 1427 more votes than the ANC. Like Knysna, their nearest neighbour, they also falsely announced the win. BUT THE DA WERE 21 VOTES SHORT of winning a 7th councillor seat which would have given them total control of the town. Instead, Bitou squats with a hung council. Those 21 votes may as well have been … ‘Click here to read full article…’
The woman involved in the sexting scandal involving Memory Booysen, the DA Mayor of Bitou Municipality (Plettenberg Bay), has told her side of the story. She says that he’s lying, She stated that Booysen also called her in between the Whatsapping so his cellphone couldn’t have been in for repairs as he claimed (Booysen has yet to explain his contradictory statements to the media and should be questioned why he immediately never provided proof of his claim that his cellphone was in for repairs.) She considers it crazy that she’s been accused of trying to dethrone him as she worked … ‘Click here to read full article…’
DOWNLOAD THIS SECRET DEMOCRATIC ALLIANCE DOCUMENT The George branch of Mazars, the international auditing and legal advice firm, has threatened me with lawyers. They are unhappy with me for publishing a document they created for the Bitou Municipality that strongly suggests a crime was committed against the public. The matters involves an alleged defrauding of the taxpayer by a municipal official and a short-lived company called Xylophone Investments. The company was fronted by Rowan Spies, then the husband of Eleanore Bouw-Spies who was the ANC Mayor of Knysna. Why the Democratic Alliance (DA) buried the damning report is the bigger … ‘Click here to read full article…’
Was the Democratic Alliance’s Mayor Memory Booysen sexting a job seeker? The DA-run Plettenberg Bay has survived a major housing scandal and a major electricity theft scandal involving municipal employees. Even more miraculous was the municipality getting rubber stamped with a Clean Audit. The Western Cape and the DA, like the ANC across South Africa is no stranger to strange happenings… and these type of things, especially in the Western Cape, rarely get the media coverage needed. However, as if it isn’t natural, as if humans aren’t the final product of many sexual attempts, it’s the sex story that gets … ‘Click here to read full article…’
This is a media release by Loyiso Notshokovu (ANC Bitou – Branch Deputy Chairperson) regards the housing fraud scandal in Plettenberg bay a.k.a. Bitou. 11 November 2014 Re: Bitou Municipality Housing Fraud The following Memorandum of Grievances was served on the municipality yesterday: Violent and destructive protest is a major concern for the ANC. We appointed a legal team that will facilitate the proper ventilation of all the allegations … ‘Click here to read full article…’
The DA-led municipality of Bitou (Plettenberg Bay) and its mayor, Memory Booysen, have been accused by Phakie Mbali, the ANC Chief Whip, of being involved in major housing fraud in Ward 7 (Kranshoek/Harkerville/Kwanokhuthula). Housing is a contentious issue, one which has led to protest, violence, destruction and N2 closures in both Plettenberg Bay and neighbouring Knysna. i.e. it’s an issue that has to be tackled with serious intention to resolve.'Click here to read full article...'
Annalise Olivier, the DA candidate and Speaker for the Bitou Municipality, has won the Ward 7 by-election with 54% of the vote versus the ANC’s 46%. 3251 people voted which represented 72% of the Kranshoek electorate. The DA’s majority means that the ANC and COPE cannot re-attempt a vote of no confidence in Mayor Memory Booysen. With the DA having championed the latest round of Bitou’s insane politics, it will be hoped that the politicians will finally get back to work. However, sources of discontent remain so expect a bumpy road.'Click here to read full article...'
This is a statement by the ANC Bitou Chief Whip, Phakie Mbali, in response to Helen Zille’s accusations regarding the Ward 7 By-Election to be held on 17 September 2014. Despite of the decision taken by the ANC to not publish bad publicity for the greater Bitou area and its residents, the false and malicious press statement issued by DA leader Helen Zille warrants a response. 1. The resignation of ANC Councillor Nolan Stuurman: The formal resignation letter received form Nolan Stuurman states “family issues” as the reason for his resignation. He further offers his support for the ANC in … ‘Click here to read full article…’
Bitou Municipality has fallen behind. Politicians have failed the taxpayers whom they are suppose to serve. Bitou has been severely handicapped the past two months as political power struggles and consequent legal machinations stopped Council Meetings. Without them, decisions affecting the affairs of the town couldn’t be passed. The ANC won moral ground when they promised in writing not to attempt a takeover and that the running of the Municipality be turned back on. Despite this, the DA refused. After ANC Councillor Nolan Stuurman resigned, ensuring that the DA would have a majority no matter what happened with the legal … ‘Click here to read full article…’
