Employee Under Threat & Knysna-Plett Herald’s Cancerous Journalism

Knysna Keep Posted on Apr 28, 2017 by Mike HamptonApr 28, 2017
Knysna-Plett Herald cancer destined for court

You’ll also be standing up for yourself cause it’s your taxpayers’ cash that the Municipality’s been wasting. Simultaneously, you’ll be standing against political bias and perverse journalism. Knysna-Plett Herald, as headed by Editor Elaine King and Director Nicole Rimbault, has repeatedly delivered articles killing facts, fairness and honesty. Omission is bias too, arguably support for the cancer of the questionable and corrupt in our town. It infects minds with wrong impressions that encourage sickness to continue. … ‘Click here to read full article…’

Ex-DA Coalition Partner May Face Disciplinary Hearing

Knysna Keep Posted on Mar 29, 2017 by Mike HamptonMar 29, 2017
Knysna Ward 4 Councillor Velile Waxa (Independent)

Velile Waxa, a former ANC councillor, seemed an odd choice as coalition partner for the Democratic Alliance (DA). More so when considering that he, as a Knysna Municipality employee, had been suspended for allegedly leading a protest that blocked the N2. DOOMED COALITION It was strongly rumoured that the DA had given financial assistance to Waxa’s 2016 election campaign. I questioned both Waxa and DA Deputy Mayor Peter Myers. Neither would confirm but neither would they deny. For those who see the DA desperate for black votes at all costs, it’s business as usual (just think of Bitou Mayor Memory … ‘Click here to read full article…’

Knysna Municipal Manager AWOL… then Suspended

Knysna Keep Posted on Aug 30, 2016 by Mike HamptonAug 30, 2016

Although accused of tender irregularities and racism, Easton has been under much more pressure than that, first as Chief Financial Officer and then in his position as MM the past year and a half. He was recently the darling of the Democratic Alliance and their clean audit flag waving. That changed when a pro-administration DA faction was booted out by opposing DA members concerned about the handling of the ISDF, the intended, long-term plan for Knysna’s future. The DA may deny the division but its undeniable. … ‘Click here to read full article…’

Adam van Rhyner Comments on His Disciplinary Hearing

Knysna Keep Posted on Jul 20, 2014 by Mike HamptonJul 20, 2014

This is a media release, issued at 6pm last night, July 19, by Bitou’s Deputy Mayor, Adam van Rhyner, regarding Bitou Municipality and his COPE disciplinary hearing: All hope that I will receive a fair disciplinary hearing was finally destroyed Thursday night, July 17, in what can only be described as a travesty of justice. I had no choice but to ask that the matter stand down in order for me to approach the Court for an interdict against the continuance of these proceedings. In a last attempt to avoid litigation, I proposed that the parties agree to an independent chairperson … ‘Click here to read full article…’
