The Immaculate Conception of Greg Vogt (Part 2)

Knysna Keep Posted on Jul 13, 2014 by Mike HamptonSep 23, 2014

Part 1 can be read here. That controlled conception of Greg Vogt as CEO of Knysna Tourism (KT) was ominous. With the general public and members locked out of the CEO launch at The Director’s Club, it was an obvious move to prevent real questioning of the controversial Vogt. With taxpayers forking out more than R4million per year to Knysna Tourism (KT), and Tourism’s members supposedly having power whilst paying their fees, it was an insult to rights, transparency and democracy. Fortunately, there’s a little known video of the proceedings uploaded to the web by Martin Hatchuel, a tourism consultant … ‘Click here to read full article…’

KEP versus Greg Vogt & Knysna Tourism

Knysna Keep Posted on Jul 1, 2014 by Mike HamptonJul 1, 2014

After reports of animal abuse for which the Knysna Elephant Park (KEP) has yet to be charged for, the organisation is undoubtedly facing many challenges. Two of these include Greg Vogt, their former manager, and the Knysna Tourism Board (KTB) who will appoint Vogt as their controversial CEO today, July 1 2014.  KEP is a member of KTB. Lisette Withers, the owner of the park, is outraged at the manner in which Vogt has been appointed. If there’s validity to her claims, you should be too. Withers has demanded answers as to why a Vogt is being appointed without due … ‘Click here to read full article…’

Tourism Truth #5: Winde & Myers Turn Their Backs on Knysna

Knysna Keep Posted on Jun 18, 2014 by Mike HamptonAug 7, 2015

Early this year, i shared this letter with you. I repeat it because it fits the chronology of this blog series and provides valuable substantiation and information. Considering that they have all failed to provide the answers they promised, and that Peter Myers (now the Chairman of the Knysna DA Constituency) is actively altering the truth, makes it very important for you to absorb this: Dear Alan Winde and Peter Meyers I have exhaustively tried to get answers and being repeatedly blocked for almost 3 years by the DA, Knysna Municipality (KM) and the Knysna Tourism Board. It is notable … ‘Click here to read full article…’

Protecting Their Tourism Arses Means Screwing You

Knysna Keep Posted on Oct 30, 2013 by Mike HamptonOct 30, 2013

The Knysna Tourism Board, the Knysna Municipality and DA politicians have deliberately withheld information from Knysna regarding the financial fiasco at Knysna Tourism. Reading the following rules of conduct that they were suppose to uphold as members of the Tourism Board and Financial Committee, it would be logical to assume that they are protecting their arses instead of serving you, the people of Knysna. Knysna Tourism Corporate Governance code of practice and conduct states: “The Board is responsible for the appointment of the CEO”, “must ensure that all decisions on all material matters remain in the hands of the Board”, … ‘Click here to read full article…’
