Minister & Mayor in Knysna Tender Scandal

Knysna Keep Posted on Dec 1, 2015 by Mike HamptonFeb 20, 2017
Did the DA illegally give Knysnas future to property developers

For two-and-a-half years, the DA-led Knysna Municipality has supported a seemingly illegal tender award that will determine the future of its 72 000 citizens. The ISDF (Integrated Strategic Development Framework) is meant to be the blueprint for Knysna for the next 30 years. It determines everything from where development will be permitted and infrastructure spent. If rumours are true that Knysna is a test case for the Western Province, then the implications are far greater. Despite loud opposition from the public, the DA and the Municipality have been determined to support a new consortium with questionable property developer links. It … ‘Click here to read full article…’

Update: George Rex Drive Development

Not happy - George Rex Drive Development

I dropped the ball on this one. I have too much going on. Consequently, i can’t inform you appropriately regards this development. What i can tell you is the positive that this Knysna development’s wetland area, which cannot be built on, has allegedly been increased to half the property size. The downside is that Knysna continues to fail its mandate to create integrated communities. A divided community will eventually fall. Notable name on that sign board is Marike Vreken who is also involved with the very controversial ISDF. … ‘Click here to read full article…’

ISDF: Worst Knysna DA Whitewash So Far

Knysna Keep Posted on Feb 18, 2015 by Mike HamptonNov 27, 2015
Knysna ISDF - Anton Bredell

NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT TO YOUR LIFE IN KNYSNA THAN THIS! This is how to try screw over everyone in Knysna at once. MEC Alan Winde, MEC Anton Bredell and Mayor Georlene Wolmarans – SHAME ON YOU. The latest episode, which will appear on the agenda of the Knysna Mayoral Committee on Thursday this week, is ultimate proof that the DA favours big business over any of us. Nothing is more important than the ISDF (Integrated Strategic Development Framework). All decisions made for Knysna (roads, human settlements) will have to fall under this plan for an estimated 30 years. Do … ‘Click here to read full article…’

Priorities Disagreement Makes Special Development Meeting a Bust

Knysna Keep Posted on Jul 16, 2014 by Mike HamptonJul 16, 2014

A Special Planning, Development and Infrastructure Committee Meeting was held in the Knysna Council Chambers this morning at 9am. Scheduled for 2 hours but finished within half an hour when the DA and opposition disagreed on priorities. Committees exist for different portfolios and currently consist of 6 members; 3 from the DA and 3 from the opposition (ANC, COPE & an Independent). If there’s disagreement, the 3 versus 3 means that nothing gets done. Stephen de Vries claimed that the agenda was incorrect as they’d expected to attend a Special meeting wherein roads were prioritised. He accused the DA of backtracking … ‘Click here to read full article…’
