Do you want serious issues affecting your life to be heard in public? Do you want to be able to ask questions afterwards. Do you want the repeated scandals of Knysna to be put to rest? If so, help me encourage our Mayor of Transparency, Eleanore Bouw-Spies, to hold a public meeting. I previously posted a poll asking if you wanted more meetings between me and local government /or/ if you consider it a waste of time. Considering what’s happened, it’s more appropriate that i address the Mayor directly. That original poll never gained much attention, approximately 60 people voting over … ‘Click here to read full article…’
More meetings between me and government? I’m not your chosen representative. Those 21 people in the Knysna Council are. I’m just an activist fighting for transparent government and for justice regards those who’ve committed crimes against our town. That being said, i have fans and i have enemies. Gosh, i have a lot of enemies 🙂 For some, depending which side you fall in will decide your vote. To the majority who don’t care about possible hidden agendas and personalities, the question is whether you believe there’s value in me having more meetings with the Knysna Municipality and our politicians … ‘Click here to read full article…’
Poll Results: Has the Knysna Municipality improved your life the past 4 years? Do its directors deserve their bonuses? 42% of you said life is better, 30% said life remains the same and 28% said life is harder. Notably, almost all of those saying life is better (approximately 38%), voted over the period of one night which means that someone, likely political, ran an email campaign to influence the poll. They probably wanted the DA’s rule to look good before the elections. In doing so, they also supported the millions that the Directors of the Municipality are earning. Nevertheless, they … ‘Click here to read full article…’
If it were legal, and you had a gun, would you shoot baboons visiting your home? The greatest beauty of Knysna is nature. Essentially, our town is surrounded by a park. That makes for excitement when animals such as elephant, caracal or leopard are glimpsed in the area. Generally, there’s respect for those rare and wondrous moments but would the respect be the same if any of those were regular visitors to your garden where your dogs and children play? This is the question we’re presented with when it comes to baboons. Over the past couple of years, the frequency … ‘Click here to read full article…’

In 2005, Jessica Wheeler and Victoria Stadler were murdered in Knysna. Heinrich van Rooyen, a nightclub DJ who knew both girls, was convicted. However, many support Van Rooyen’s innocence, believing that the police were too quick to convict for the sake of the tourist town’s image and revenue. There were disturbing questions too. Why were the murders so different. Why did Stadler’s murder match the modus operandi of a third murder, Peter McHelm’s, for which others were convicted? Is Van Rooyen guilty or innocent? Or are the facts so grey that the case needs to be reopened? Please only vote … ‘Click here to read full article…’
We need you to send a clear message to our politicians, Knysna Municipality and the Western Cape government regards the ISDF, the plan for our future. It’ll only take you seconds. On the Knysna-Plett Herald’s (KPH) website, there’s a poll on the right-hand menu bar. I need you to vote TODAY even though the poll there is biased. Let me explain… The choice of words is very important. Propagandists have realised that for a very long time. It’s been a particularly useful tool for corrupt governments. Yesterday, i expressed my concern that the newspaper is not reporting fairly and seemingly … ‘Click here to read full article…’
I have much bigger articles landing on this topic later but, in the meanwhile, what do you think? Should elephant edutainment (education + entertainment) be allowed? With the scandal that’s hit Knysna’s elephants, animal rights activists have been loud whilst many locals have given their support to Knysna Elephant Park, saying that abuse stories are a lie and their elephants are healthy. Is there value in children and families being introduced to elephants and educated about them? Is training, through positive reinforcement, ok? Is elephant-back riding ok? Should animals be left in the wild? What of rescues?'Click here to read full article...'
