Knysna’s traffic cops arrested cows today but had trouble trying to get them to go across the Main Road to appear in the Knysna Magistrates’ Court. The cows are expected to moo in defence before the Chief Magistrate. They’ll be calling Manager Protection Services Richard Meyer as a witness to testify that the Knysna Municipality believes that there are separate rules for white cow owners and black cow owners. By municipal by-law, only black-owned cows and pigs are allowed to walk in Knysna Central.'Click here to read full article...'
This email was sent to Speaker Eleanore Spies on March 10 2015. Since then, i followed through in sending information to the Hawks. Spies acknowledged the mail but lied that she would respond so i am posting this email publicly and will, today, report Knysna Municipality to SALGA (South African Local Government Association), the Constitutional representative body for all municipalities. Dear Eleanore Spies I am reporting financial misconduct, fruitless and wasteful expenditure and conduct unbecoming of councillors. As Speaker for the Council of the Knysna Municipality (KM), you occupy an important position meant to protect the integrity of the Council … ‘Click here to read full article…’
Hate reading? Or want to share this? Listen to this, or download, as an MP3: ‘Jaco Londt: Bottom of the DA Barrel’ Bottom of the barrel, where Those-Who-Could-Do-Better can be found, is where you will find Jaco Londt. I am responding to his absurd and unhelpful DA response to my letter in the Knysna-Plett Herald last week. Understand how important Jaco Londt is. He is the DA Constituent Leader for Knysna! He is the DA Manager of the Eastern Region (Klein Karoo/Garden Route)! He is a member of Parliament! Somehow, incredibly, most DA voters don’t know who he is (that … ‘Click here to read full article…’
A Facebook post about the closure of a creche in Upper Olde Place Knysna, on the corner of Boekenhout and Old Toll Road, led to sufficient disagreement in the comment section to prompt this blog and a posting of the contents from the Council Meeting that refused the application from the already running, and allegedly illegal, creche. The FB post simply stated: “A creche in Upper Old Place, on the corner of Boekenhout and Old Toll Road, is to be closed down after objections by Graham McDonald who complained about peak hour traffic and noise. Maybe more importantly is that … ‘Click here to read full article…’
It seems too many to be true but Knysna’s Traffic & Law Enforcement department issued 14 889 speeding fines in July this year. The total revenue collected from speedsters was almost R1.2million which means the annual gain would be in the region of R20million. As large as this amount is, the majority of monies are not being collected. Although fines can take up to 2 years to be collected, there would be continuous month revenue i.e. it doesn’t matter from when it originated for us to work out an average of what is coming in. Dividing the tickets by revenue … ‘Click here to read full article…’
These are questions to the Knysna Traffic and Law Enforcement department as headed by Richard Meyer who is the Manager for Disaster Management, Social Services & Traffic (he can be reached on 044 302 6426): What is being done so as to educate Knysna drivers as to the new fines? Will tripling fines proportionately reduce road deaths by 300%? What is the breakdown of traffic offences? Are most for speeding? Is stopping speeding about prevention or punishment i.e. have local traffic officers ordered to be as visible as possible? If there’s an increase in the monies raised through fines, … ‘Click here to read full article…’
This photo proves how ridiculous it is trying to deal with the Knysna Municipality. The blame must fall on Lauren Waring, as the municipal manager, and Georlene Wolmarans, as mayor. It’s old news that they are not fans of mine because i seek answers to that which they so often do not want to answer. If South Africa were truly a democracy, and the law had value, they’d have been chucked out of office in their first year on the job. I say ‘on the job’ meaning anything but that! My morning was spent between 4 government buildings. I visited … ‘Click here to read full article…’
