Knysna may be a small town but we’ve got a big heart 🙂
Welcome to the 151 new Love Knysna Facebook subscribers this week and the 1000 the past couple of months – 7870 in total, as of this morning. Thank you!
I’m Mike Hampton, an activist. I have the sites Love Knysna and Knysna Keep whose info i feed through Facebook. I occasionally point out my Facebook page’s description so that there’s no misunderstanding:
“Knysna, the Prettiest Town in South Africa – this ACTIVISM page is for those of US that strive, through thick and thin, to keep her safe and beautiful!”
Traditionally, you could find all aspects of our lives on my Facebook, from tourism to social issues, from happy dogs and beautiful sunsets to poverty and crime. Lately, the craziness of the elections took over.
I believe that the only love that’s genuine is that which we fight for.
I fight hard, gaining appreciation from some and hate from others. Calling a spade a spade is a difficult but necessary course if we’re to believe in our future.
EVIL DOESN’T BELONG ONLY TO THOSE WE CONVENIENTLY HATE
I consider the ANC to be rotten and utterly despise their arrogant cronyism nationwide. But because i live in the Western Cape, i’m more concerned about the DA’s corruption growing as their power grows. What’s happening here is just part of the truism “power corrupts”.
I’m Mike Hampton. Some call me Wicked Mike 🙂 Welcome to the new subscribers!
I’ve experienced the DA disregarding the Constitution and their stated beliefs. They repeatedly take me to court to try shut me up. Right now, i consider our new council to include two criminals. Helen Zille has the evidence but has so far refused to act, making me think that the DA’s image and friends are more important to her than us, the public.
I know that these aren’t popular things to say but the evidence is posted online too. All the insults in the world can never erase facts. I encourage you to dig into my blogs.
There isn’t a “them or and us” situation. We can find good people in every party, race and culture. We’re human; flawed and beautiful, good and evil. It’s important for us to be fair, judging every persona and situation on their actions and not our bias.
I want you to be here with your eyes wide open. I want you to stay because you have an open mind.
To those of you who don’t live in Knysna, you’re still bound to find some of the situations i present interesting. They may even be relevant to your lives in that if it’s possible here, it’s possible in your home town too.
